What to Expect During PRP Therapy

What can I expect during PRP therapy?

During your consultation, the physician will explain the procedure to you, inquire about your medical history and answer questions you have. You can expect the procedure to last about 45 minutes to one hour. The therapy will begin when a nurse draws your blood and separates the platelets. The physician will mix these enriched platelets with the remaining blood sample and the injection is prepared. Using ultrasound technology as a guide the physician will inject the solution.

During our PRP Facial, we use a custom numbing solution to address handle physical discomfort. The facial uses extremely fine needles and only penetrate the skin at a depth of 0.5-2.0mm. The micro-needling lasts 5-15 minutes. However you may still experience mild pain and discomfort around bony areas. Any pain or mild burning sensation you experience is temporary and will not last long. At the end of the PRP Facial, the physician will apply a healing face mask to help reduce redness.
